Program Description:

London Tower

Honors Spring Break in London

Introduction

Come experience London, where two thousand years of history and culture exist side-by-side with one of the most vibrant and cosmopolitan cities in the world.
  • Explore Westminster Abbey, the site of English royal coronations for the last thousand years
  • Take a day trip to Canterbury in the footsteps of Chaucer's pilgrims to see the shrine of St. Thomas Becket
  • Visit the Tower of London, where St. Thomas More and other prominent figures awaited execution
  • Travel to the beautiful Palace of Hampton Court, with its famous maze
  • Tour the Royal Observatory, Greenwich, which sets the time for the entire world
  • Visit the Churchill War Rooms, where the British government monitored the progress of the Second World War
  • Enjoy the ultimate field trip with friends old and new!
26SB London Itinerary (Tentative)

Academics

Students participating in the program will earn one Catholic University credit. The course is led and taught by Dr. Jennifer Paxton, Associate Professor of History, and a specialist in British history. This program is open to all Catholic University students, including those who are not part of the University Honors Program. Priority acceptance will be given to Honors students who apply by October 15th, but all students are welcome. 
 

Accommodation

Students will be housed in double or triple rooms in a 3-star hotel in central London. Daily breakfast and 3 group meals are included in the program fee; other meals will be self-catered (cafes, restaurants, etc.).
 

Finances

Accepted students should submit a $300 deposit to confirm their participation in the program, due by December 15th.
