
USAC Chinese Language & Culture Summer
Introduction
Students will have the opportunity to choose from multiple levels of Mandarin Chinese, where immersion and application are the primary approaches to teaching. This firsthand experience allows you to regularly speak with native speakers, as well as learn about Chinese and Tibetan culture. They will live in a friendly, culturally, and historically unique environment known as “China’s China,” home to the largest panda sanctuary, Sichuan food, and picturesque scenery. Chengdu field trips have much to offer its adventurous students. Students will situate yourself in the heart of China, known for being one of the oldest countries as well as one of the fastest developing, and discover that the doors of exploration are always open.
Academics
Enroll in either one or both summer sessions. Students in the first summer session can take one or two courses for up to 6 credits. Students in the second section take one 3-credit course. Both Chinese language and area studies options are available.

Housing Accommodation and Meals
Residence Halls
The university's new international students' dorm features single rooms with a private bathroom, air conditioner and TV. Each floor has a shared kitchen, refrigerator, and washing machine. Conveniently located on campus, the rooms are in the same building as the USAC office and classrooms.
Apartments
Students can also choose to stay in an apartment in nearby Chinese neighborhoods. The furnished apartments are of varying age, size, and character but are all a chance to live with a small group of roommates in neighborhoods with locals and other students. There are three student cafeterias on campus and students often eat at nearby restaurants. Chengdu is famous for its food, with many affordable choices near campus.
