Program Description:
USAC Health and Society in Bangalore
Study in Bangalore, India
Explore a diverse landscape, varied food, unparalleled architectural monuments, World Heritage Sites, and colorful festivals.
Live in the “Garden City,” the hub of India’s technology and business outsourcing revolution.
Take advantage of numerous opportunities for service learning and volunteering with the Center for Social Action, a student-run service organization.
Study at one of the finest educational institutions in India, located in a trendy and pleasant suburb.
The USAC Resident Director and staff are present on-site full-time to welcome and support you during your term abroad.
Academics

Culture
Cultural activities and excursions are included in your program. Destinations and activities vary, but past years have included
Volunteering in a local village to help educate disadvantaged children through CSA
Helping in a nearby hospital with HIV/AIDS victims through CSA
Visiting local businesses, agencies, and cultural events with your fellow classmates and professors
Assisting Christ University students with cultural events and activities held on campus
Working as a volunteer at local slum centers to teach to young children through the CSA
Helping local NGOs through CSA
Accommodations
Apartments
Students are placed in co-ed, shared apartments that include two bathrooms, two double rooms, a kitchen, washing machine (no dryer), common area, and small patio. Single rooms are available for an additional cost. The apartments are located in Koramagala; an IT, shopping, and residential hub within a 30- to 45-minute commute to campus by walking or auto-rickshaw.
Residence Halls
The residence hall includes a study room, small gym, washing machines (no dryer), and a TV/entertainment room. All rooms are single occupancy with private bathrooms, refrigerator, and microwave.
Non-USAC Arranged Housing
If you choose to opt out of USAC-arranged housing--or are thinking about choosing this option--contact your USAC Program Advisor for more details. You are required to have your housing secured prior to arrival as your housing information (including address) will be required at the time of police registration. You must register with the police within 14 days of your arrival in India and you must register in Bengaluru.
