Students will spend the summer taking one, 6 credit courses at Accademia Italiana, Florence, one of Europe's leading centers for art and design.
The focus of this program is on teaching what is needed to design a stylistically-consistent collection and develop individual creativity. You will choose from a course in fashion design and one in Italian industrial design. Clothing collections and furniture accessories are among the things you will be asked to design. Students will have the opportunity to travel to fascinating places of interest that enhance your cultural immersion and give a meaningful context to your academic courses including: Amalfi Coast, Film Series, Roman Baths and Wine Vineyards in Viterbo. Academics & Curriculum
Students enroll in either Intensive Fashion Design or Design in Italy for a total of six credits. All courses are taught in English, and prior knowledge of Italian is not required.
Accommodation & Meals
Students will live in furnished apartments in the heart of Florence. The properties typically house between two and six students in shared bedrooms. A furnished kitchen is available, allowing you to do your shopping at nearby markets and prepare your own. You can also purchase meals at any of the nearby local eateries.
