Program Description:

Program Overview

Spend the summer taking one, six-credit courses at Accademia Italiana, Florence, one of Europe's leading centers for art and design.

The focus of the program is on teaching what is needed to design a stylistically-consistent collection and develop individual creativity. You will choose from a course in fashion design and one in Italian industrial design. Clothing collections and furniture accessories are among the things you will be asked to design.

Academics & Curriculum

Students enroll in either Intensive Fashion Design or Design in Italy for a total of six credits. All courses are taught in English, and prior knowledge of Italian is not required.
 

Accommodation & Meals

Students live in furnished apartments in the heart of Florence. The properties typically house between two and six students in shared bedrooms. A furnished kitchen is available, allowing you to do your shopping at nearby markets and prepare your own. You can also purchase meals at any of the nearby local eateries.
