Universidad Nebrija

Introduction

Universidad Nebrija is located in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Madrid is known for its rich and varied offerings in sports, leisure, and culture. Students will have plenty of time to explore all of the theaters and museums, such as the Prado National Art Museum, the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, and the Queen Sofía Center for the Arts, as well as the local monuments, exhibits, concert halls, and parks.

This is an inviting study abroad destination for students seeking to improve their Spanish. Politics, Media Studies, and Journalism majors are likely to find plenty of course offerings that would help their progress towards graduation.
 

Academics & Curriculum

Courses at Universidad Nebrija are offered in ECT. American students will typically enroll in 30 ECT worth of courses to earn 15 CUA credits. Students need at least 6 ECT in any given subject to fulfill a required course at CUA. Courses can be English-taught or Spanish-taught, though students need seeking to take Spanish-taught courses will need to prove their language ability. English-taught courses are primary given in the fields of business or in the humanities.

Accommodation & Meals

Participants in this program generally reside in homestays. They are given a single room with a bed, sheets, pillows, blankets, towels, and access to wifi. Cleaning services and laundry facilities are included. Included in the program fee is half board (2 meals/day), though students may pay additional to receive full board (roughly 150€/month more). All housing provided to students will be within a 45 minute commute to Universidad Nebrija.

Alternatively, students may request to stay in a furnished apartment with Catholic University's general housing provider, Student Global Relocation, though availability cannot be guaranteed. Included with the furnished apartments are a bed, wardrobe, desk and chair, and utilities (electricity, water, internet, etc.). SGR also provides a regular cleaning service just for the shared areas of the apartment. Not included in the basic price are towels, linens, laundry service, or the refundable security deposit.
