First-Year Experience in Rome
From the wonders of Ancient Rome to the sweet buzzing of contemporary Roman society, the "Eternal City" is rich in history and culture unlike anywhere else in the world. The FYE Rome program offers students an introduction to the vibrant existence of the Italian capital and its role in the development of Western civilization. Students have the opportunity to experience and participate in the past, present, and perhaps future of one of humanity's greatest millennial cities.
Catholic University freshmen have the opportunity to conclude their First-Year Experience with this summer program in Rome. This three-week, three-credit course takes place in Rome, where students engage in experiential learning using the Eternal City as their classroom. Frequent site visits in Rome and weekend excursions around Italy form an essential part of the academic experience. All students participate in a three-credit humanities course taught by a Catholic University faculty member, focusing on Italian life and culture.
