Universidad Panamericana

Universidad Panamericana was founded in 1967 as a business school. The university has four campuses which give service to almost 12 thousand students in 33 degree programs. CUA students are able to study at the UP's first campus, which is located in Mexico City. As one university with one spirit, UP works daily on three foundational pillars: teaching, research, and transmission of culture. In virtue of an agreement between the Governing Board and the Prelature of Opus Dei, Universidad Panamericana has entrusted to that Prelature the spiritual attention and doctrinal guidance of all its activities. The University, in its few decades of life, has come to occupy a place as one of the top universities in Mexico.

The City

As the largest Spanish-speaking city in the world, Mexico City is an ideal place to be immersed in the Spanish language. The region has a long history and offers a fascinating combination of the ancient and the modern.

Catholic University students will have the opportunity to enroll in most academic programs available at Universidad Panamericana. Both English-taught courses and Spanish-taught courses are available. Students also have the option of enrolling in a Spanish language course at a variety of levels. ESDAI courses are only available to female students.

Most courses are worth 6 Mexican credits (equivalent to 3 U.S. credits), and a typical course load is five courses. Syllabi are available upon request.

Students are placed with host families for a greater cultural and linguistic immersion experience. They are provided with a bedroom and weekly cleaning. Depending on the placement, students may also receive weekly laundry and two meals daily.

Exchange Scholars

Exchange Scholar programs at The Catholic University of America provide an immersive international experience for a limited number of highly qualified students.  This exclusive opportunity enables students to study at a select group of prestigious universities worldwide.  Exchange partner schools are selected on the basis of mission, academic excellence, dedication to internationalization, and a commitment to research.
