Université Catholique de Lille
Introduction
Lille is a young and lively city in the north of France. Its location between London, Brussels, and Paris makes it easy and convenient for students looking to travel, and courses offered in both English as well as French make it an ideal option for students of all language abilities. The university itself is situated in the heart of the city, surrounded by cosmopolitan markets, stylish shops, and beautiful gardens. It boasts a strong Catholic heritage, a vibrant student body, and a wide range of sports, clubs, and cultural activities that students can partake in all year round.
Academics & Curriculum
Students on this program enroll in 30 ECTS (the equivalent of 15 US credits). At least 6 ECTS are needed in any given subject in order to fulfill a required course at Catholic University. Typically, courses at the Université Catholique de Lille (UCL) should be selected from a single school or faculty (such as the Faculty of Arts and Humanities). If necessary, though, students may choose a secondary school or faculty in which to take some of their courses. The two Schools of Business are not eligible for this, however, as their courses frequently conflict with those offered elsewhere at the university. Students may not take courses in the Schools of Nursing, Midwifery, Physiotherapy, Chiropody, or Law (Masters).

full course catalog to choose among courses taught in French as well. Students enrolling in French-taught courses should be at the French 104 level or higher.
Please note: students interested in studying at UCL for fall semester only cannot enroll in courses within the School of Law, School of Theology, Institute of Social Work, and HEI Engineering School. If you are interested in taking courses in these schools, you must study at UCL for the full academic year or spring semester only.
Accommodation & Meals
Students are housed in residence halls run by UCL. A number of residence options are available, both on campus and nearby within approximately a 3-mile radius. Rooms are all singles, and while most residences are traditional dorm-style accommodations with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities, some may include a private bathroom and/or a private kitchenette. All rooms are furnished with a bed, desk, chair, refrigerator, corner sink, and wardrobe, but other amenities vary by residence hall. These may include laundry, a TV lounge, wifi or wired internet, a game room, and breakfast service. Linens are not included. For an additional monthly fee, students can access UCL’s fitness center, sports complex, swimming pool, and fitness classes. Some fitness facilities may be located within the residence hall building, depending on where students are housed. Students rank 3-5 accommodations by preference, and are placed according to availability. A full list of

Meal plans are not available, however, students have access to the University Restaurants located throughout Lille.
Eligibility
Fall-semester Participants should be aware to avoid taking courses in the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Theology, Institute of Social Work, and HEI Engineering School, as these schools have exams in January that run past the start of the spring semester at Catholic U.
