University of Edinburgh Engineering Exchange
Introduction
The University of Edinburgh is located in the very heart of Scotland’s capital, which is consistently considered one of the most desirable places to live in the world and is also ranked the greenest in the United Kingdom. Edinburgh is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site because of its famed and breathtaking architecture. There is the Old Town, over which towers a medieval castle, and the New town, which for centuries has influenced urban planning across Europe. With a wide range of museums, art galleries, theaters and cinemas, and playing host to 12 festivals each year (including the world’s largest arts festival) Edinburgh offers plenty to see and do all year round.
Academics & Curriculum
Students need to take the majority of their coursework (at least 40 Edinburgh credits) within the College of Science and Engineering. Any remaining classes (up to 20 Edinburgh credits) may be taken in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. Applicants interested in learning more about course offerings can find information here.
Accommodation & Meals
Visiting students have the option to choose from a variety of residence hall options, some offering single rooms and others offering shared accommodations. All housing options are within walking distance of the university, though some may be more conveniently accessed via bus. Applicants can learn more by visiting the Edinburgh study abroad accommodations website.
