Program Description:

Studying architecture at Kingston School of Art offers CUA students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the contemporary and historic architectural culture of Europe’s largest and most diverse city.  Located on the River Thames near green landmarks such as Hampton Court Palace and gardens, Richmond Park and Kew Gardens, Kingston upon Thames is only 30minutes from Central London by train.

Study at Kingston is studio and workshop based and centred on the ethos of ’thinking through making’.  Instructors are primarily London-based practitioners running some of the UK’s most interesting and successful offices.  Each year level is split into a number of design studios, with a collegiate atmosphere and project assignments based on historical and contextual research and spatial and tectonic experimentation.  Ranging in scale from urban and landscape considerations to interiors and components, all design projects result in plausible but creative building proposals.
