Dissertation Research Abroad

Introduction

This program is for Catholic University graduate students looking to conduct dissertation research abroad over the course of a semester or academic year. Catholic University will conduct a general orientation and arrange insurance, but students are responsible for the details and logistics of their trip themselves.

Academics

Students must enroll in the standard dissertation guidance course for their department and (unless funded) pay tuition as per any other semester. Students are strongly encouraged to review their travel and research plans with their Catholic University advisor.
 

Accommodations

Students are responsible for procuring their own housing while abroad. A suitable housing plan must be submitted as part of the study abroad application. Students conducting their dissertation research in Rome may request housing at the Catholic University Rome Center.
